Distance is the cheapest noise control
Put the generator as far from people as the cables allow, and run cables back to where the power is needed.
Point the exhaust away
Exhaust and noise face away from buildings, tents and people. See safety.
Level, dry, stable ground
Place on firm level ground. Avoid puddles and low spots.
Choose the right type
Inverter generators are the quietest small units. Sound-attenuated diesel sets are the quietest large units.
Check local rules
Municipalities, venues and organizers often set noise limits. Ask them first and tell us the limit when you request a quote.
